STUD SERVICE CONTRACT
I.
Both parties
agree that this breeding is being conducted for the betterment of the
Rottweiler breed.
II.
Both the stud
and the bitch must have a good temperament and have no disqualifying faults
under the current AKC Rottweiler breed standard, must be OFA certified to be
clear of hip dysplasia with a rating of “Fair” or better, Cardiac – Normal,
must be in good health, must be tested for and free of parasites and sexually
transmitted disease, and all shots must be current for the year.
III.
The owner of
the bitch agrees to keep the bitch confined and inaccessible to all other male
dogs from the start of estrus until the estrus cycle is fully complete.
IV.
It is
suggested that the bitch be checked by a veterinarian prior to breeding to
ensure that she is at the optimal time of estrus.
V.
The following
must be provided by both parties prior to the breeding:
Ø Photo static or electronic copy of the OFA
Certification(s)
Ø Photo static or electronic copy of any additional
health certifications
Ø Photo static or electronic copy of the AKC ownership
Ø Copy of the pedigree
Ø Current brucellosis test results
Ø Vaginal culture and sensitivity (bitch only)
VI.
Stud fee is _$1,000_______
to be paid 1/2 at the time of breeding with the remaining 1/2 to be paid
upon whelping. No stud fee will be refunded in whole or in part. Should the
bitch fail to whelp, have less than two live puppies, or less than two puppies
fail to survive to 8 weeks, a free return service will be given by the same
stud dog at the next estrus cycle of the same bitch provided both dogs remain
in good health
VII.
If a puppy is
to be received instead of a cash stud fee, the stud dog owner will be given the
first pick puppy of the resulting litter as agreed to by both parties. The
owner of the stud will decide when to select the puppy, but must do so no
earlier than six weeks of age and no later than eight weeks of age.
VIII.
Notice will
be provided to the stud dog owner within 48 hours of whelping.
IX.
If the stud
dog is not available at the time return service is needed, service will be
provided at the following estrus cycle.
X.
If the bitch
changes ownership, this contract is terminated.
XI.
By signing this
contract, the stud and bitch owners agree that the puppies produced from this
breeding will be placed in proper homes and will be sold on a contract in
accordance with a Code of Ethics club’s Standard for Sales. It is further
agreed that puppies produced from this breeding will not be sold to any owner,
employee, agent or individual connected with a wholesaler of purebred dogs,
guard or attack business.
